Call for Applications: Plateau Emerging Leaders Fellowship (PELF) 2025

Are you a young leader passionate about driving change in your community? Do you want to develop your leadership, policy advocacy, and governance skills while working on impactful community projects?

The Plateau Emerging Leaders Fellowship (PELF) invites applications for its 2025 cohort. This six-month intensive leadership development program will equip 34 young leaders (two from each of Plateau State’s 17 Local Government Areas) with the knowledge, skills, and networks necessary to influence policies, drive sustainable development initiatives, and implement solutions for community transformation.

  • Leadership Training and Development
  • Mentorship and Networking
  • Policy Advocacy and Governance Training
  • Community-Based Project Implementation
  • Structured Learning Visits
  • Leadership Bootcamp

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the fellowship, applicants must:

  • Be between the ages of 20 and 35 years
  • Have a minimum academic qualification of a Bachelor's degree or current student
  • Be an indigene of Plateau State
  • Demonstrate a track record of leadership or community engagement
  • Show commitment to policy influence, governance, and sustainable development
  • Have a passion for creating positive change in their communities

Expected Outcomes

By the end of the fellowship, fellows will:

  1. Gain leadership and policy development skills to drive community transformation.
  2. Implement 17 community projects addressing key challenges in Plateau State.
  3. Build a strong youth network for collaborative development initiatives.
  4. Develop practical action plans for community engagement and impact.
  5. Enhance youth representation in policy dialogues and decision-making processes.
